Is chiropractic care right for you?

Chiropractic is a holistic, non-invasive approach to balancing the human body that utilizes the spine as the primary means to stimulate healing.

Trauma, such as an auto accident as well as repetitive strains (i.e. long hours at the computer) can cause disruption in normal spinal biomechanics. In many cases the body can self-correct, however, misaligned joints can become fixed or stuck, causing pain, swelling and eventually interference to the normal conduction of nerve impulses from the brain to the connective tissues and organs of the body.

Some of the signals indicating a need for chiropractic care may include:

  • Low back pain (chronic or acute)
  • Neck pain and upper back pain
  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Tingling, pain or weakness of arms/legs
  • Recurring injuries
  • Tendonitis (ie. rotator cuff, plantar fasciitis)
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome

As a primary care provider, Dr. Durakis can review your history, evaluate your current condition and determine whether chiropractic care, or medical referral would be most appropriate.

Clinical Nutritional Counseling

Dr. Durakis has specific expertise with regard to nutritional and herbal therapies as well as the diagnosis and natural treatment of menopausal symptoms and hormonal imbalance. In the office we use saliva testing to evaluate hormone levels and can implement herbal and bio-identical hormone protocols to effectively balance the endocrine system.

(Dietary supplements utilized are whole-food based formulas from Standard Process Inc. and available only through health care providers).

Core Training

Dr. Durakis’ patients are typically instructed as to effective rehabilitation and exercise. Appointments are available to review technique and safe execution of exercises that will strengthen the core, stabilize the hips and pelvis and improve posture.

Postural Analysis and Orthotics

Poor posture, or what is known as “tech-neck” has become epidemic and has far reaching health implications. Dr. Durakis offers postural evaluations and care plans designed to address postural imbalance.

If foot pronation is causing postural distortion, Dr. Durakis may incorporate stabilizing orthotics designed to treat the body as a functional unit starting with the feet. If you suffer from low back pain, plantar fasciitis, knee pain, hip pain or even neck pain custom made orthotics can help.
