Couples Massage
This hands on workshop will provide you with the tools you need to give a great massage to your friends and loved ones. Learn massage techniques that will work the feet, legs, back, shoulders, arms, head and face, providing stress relief and relaxation to tired and sore muscles!
Bring a spouse, partner or friend and experience the art of massage. We will be sitting in chairs and on mats on the floor. You will be appropriately clothed at all times. Wearing loose comfortable clothing is best. Please bring shorts and for women a sports type top.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction - An Introduction

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is modeled after the classes offered at the Stress Reduction Clinic, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979. The tools and techniques explored and learned in the MBSR course help people mobilize their own inner resources to help manage their own personal health, wellbeing and healing. Simply put, Mindfulness is moment to moment awareness. It is cultivated by purposely paying attention to things we normally would not give a second notice to. It is a systematic approach to developing new kinds of control and wisdom in our lives, based on our inner capacities for relaxation, paying attention, awareness and insight.
MBSR can help;
- The ability to manage pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with pain that may not go away
- More effective skills in managing stress
- An increased ability to relax
- Greater energy and enthusiasm for life
- Improved self-esteem
- An ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations
About the instructor
Maryellen has spent the last several years in professional training for MBSR. She has attended training with Jon Kabat-Zinn along with others who are professionally trained in MBSR. Her interest in this work began in 1992 on a personal level and has been instrumental in helping her navigate some important areas of her life.
